CBD and Chemotherapy
With life expectancy levels increasing only slightly in the last decade the number of cancer patients has increased considerably. Chemotherapy is one of the most common and most administered treatments for cancer and while the treatment does have well documented good results the side-effects are not so good.
A natural cancer treatment
Over the years, patients who are undergoing chemotherapy treatments have had to take various medications to counter the side-effects. Some patients have taken to using marijuana and have described it is a miracle when combating the side effects of their chemo. However, the cannabis when working alongside Chemotherapy has highlighted that the active ingredients could be a better, more natural cancer treatment than chemotherapy itself. In the meantime, combining Chemotherapy with the use of CBD is proving to be positive.
Cannabidiol has proven to have unique pain reliving properties and the non-psychoactive CBD oils have shown to have the same effects and Marijuana that many cancer sufferers are turning to. The results of using CBD oil opposed to Chemotherapy have been, on the whole, positive and promising.
CBD in Cancer Treatment Studies
However, when treating cancer, the choice between the populist Chemotherapy treatment and the less conventional but effective CBD solution is a tough one as lives are at stake. A 2018 study showed that when using Chemotherapy treatment with CBD the survival rates with certain cancers tripled.
A previous study in 2013 showed that when CBD and Chemotherapy were combined the reproduction of cancer cells decreased. In some cases, the combination of both treatments helped restore and repair damaged cells and maintain the balance of healthy cells throughout the body.
In some parts of the world CBD is considered a medical breakthrough but human trials are still very limited. However, CBD oil is proving to improve cancer survival rates and more cancer sufferers are choosing to use CBD oil with chemotherapy and the results are beginning to speak for themselves.
